His second three-ball extended the Irish lead to a whopping 51-23 with just under two minutes to play, and Carter's two from the free-throw line staked Notre Dame to a 56-24 halftime advantage.

The Broncs didn't let things get out of hand early in the second half, running off 11 straight at one point to cut their deficit to 24 points, but Notre Dame erased any momentum with a 19-4 run, ending on another Carter make from the charity stripe with just under nine minutes to play. The Irish continued to pour it on late, and closed out the game with a 19-10 burst for the 50-point win.

Game Notes

The Irish were victorious in the teams' only other meeting, by a 75-62 count back in 1999...It is the first time this season Notre Dame has eclipsed the 100-point mark, establishing a new season high for points in a game previously set in a 99-85 win over Alabama on December 7...Rider was out-rebounded 44-34, and committed six more turnovers than their hosts (16-10).
